The GOLSON Philosophy
At GOLSON, we know that hair can have an incredible impact on how we look, feel and express ourselves in life. We want to help you achieve the colour & style that you desire, and ensure your hair stays healthy and in great condition. Fom the beginning of your appointment, complete with a thorough consultation, to recommending how to look after your hair in-between appointments.
All haircuts and colours at GOLSON are priced time, the expertise of your stylist and product. A standard amount of colour is built in to our service prices, however, if it's been a while since you last had colour, have long or thick hair, or your desired colour is more creative, then additional costs may be incurred. We offer complimentary consultations to price your appointment, ensuring you are happy with what results you can expect, along with the price before confirming your appointment with us. We also carry out an allergy alert test for your safety 48 hours prior a colour appointment. Read about Colourstart, to maintain your own allergy record.

Prices
Prices shown are a guide only, booking a consultation will allow your stylist to provide an accurate quote. Additional charges may be applied for long or thick hair, for additional toners or that extra colour required to achieve your desired look. See more about our colour charging with Vish
Graduate Designers
At GOLSON we love to develop new talent. Our starting level is our Graduate Designer. These stylists are qualified and have either completed their training at GOLSON or at another hair salon or the local college. Be mindful that they are building up experience and therefore it may take them longer to carry out some services. They may also ask a more senior colleague to help or guide them with the appointment.
Their service prices are reduced and therefore cannot have any other promotions or discounts applied.
You will have the same wonderful GOLSON experience, all we ask from you as to be kind and be patient with our new talent.
Cancellation Policy
We understand things come up, however, please do provide as much notice as possible to reschedule appointments, at least 24 hours and 48 hours for large colour or Kerasilk Control appointments, where deposits have been taken. A 50% cancellation charge will be applied for no shows or late cancellations and deposit payments unfortunately cannot be refunded. This is to protect our stylists income and provide enough time for new appointments to be made.
We kindly ask you to arrive on time for your appointment. We understand sometimes things may delay you in reaching the salon in time. Please call the salon as soon as possible to let us know your ETA. We will endeavour to accommodate you still however your service may need to be reduced, altered to potentially cancelled, with any deposit lost.
Deposits
Deposits are required for large value appointments which are fully refundable when more than 48 hours notice is provided between Tuesday and Saturday to make changes.
Colour Journey
For some colour change and balayage services, it may take more than one visit to achieve the desired look.
A toner simply changes the direction of tone of your colour, for example from warm to cool or from cool to warm. They are not permanent and work alongside a pre coloured usually permanent service such as Topchic or Prelightener. They do not have finite time to stay with in the hair. We will never promise how long it will last. It will depend on after care used, how often the hair is washed and the general porosity of the hair. We recommend our Toner Refresh service to revive your colour in between colour appointments to prolong your look.
Offers & Promotions
Offers may not be used in conjunction with other offers and promotions and may be withdrawn at any time.

Online Purchases
- A P&P cost of £4.50 applies to gift card purchases. If receipt is time sensitive, we do offer E-Cards via our online booking service and cards can also be collected direct from our GOLSON salons.
- Gift Card and Gift E-Cards cannot be exchanged for cash or refunded and are valid for 12 months from date of purchase unless otherwise stated in a specified promotion.
- We are not responsible if a gift card is lost, stolen or destroyed or used without permission.
- Lost or stolen cards will not be replaced.
Allergy Alert Testing
GOLSON is a colour responsible salon and for this reason, in order to safeguard you, it is important for our team to follow the company guidelines, please read our Colour Responsible Policy.
GOLSON subscribe to Colourstart, for a small one off charge, you can carry out and manage your own colour testing using a free downloadable app and a small sticky colour test. All brand new colour clients at GOLSON must have an allergy test carried out 48 hours prior to your first colour treatment.
If you are unable to use Colourstart, if you're pregnant, taking certain medications, then you will need to pop in for a skin test 48 hours before EVERY colour service.
Client Complaints
Our priority is for you to be completely satisfied with the service you receive from us. We run a professional business, so we aim for the highest standards in everything we do.
Complaints are rare, but we take them seriously, so we have a complaints policy and process we follow to make sure things are put right where needed and we learn from your feedback.
PROCESS
Tell someone you’re not happy with the service you’ve received, either while you’re in the salon/barbershop or as soon as possible after leaving. Calmly and clearly explain the problem. We will listen to your feedback and ask questions as necessary to understand why you are making a complaint. We aim to resolve all complaints within eight weeks.
If you have already left the salon/barbershop, don’t go to another salon as we have the right to see exactly what the service or treatment you received from us looks like. We will arrange a suitable time for you to come back into our salon and discuss your complaint in private.
Where we think your complaint is reasonable, we will redo a part or all of the service or treatment again as soon as possible, free of charge. The work will be done by a different stylist if you prefer. If we can’t fix the problem, we may offer a partial or full refund depending on how reasonable we consider your complaint to be.
ALTERNATIVE DISPUTE RESOLUTION
If, after following our complaints policy, we still can’t agree on how to resolve the complaint to your satisfaction, as required by the Alternative Dispute Resolution for Consumer Disputes Regulations 2015, we will refer you to a certified alternative dispute resolution provider, Hair & Beauty Mediation. As mediators, they listen to both sides and help us work towards a fair and reasonable compromise which is acceptable to both parties. It is not legally binding unless both parties agree on an outcome, but it is a cheaper and quicker alternative than taking legal action.
Please note there is a charge of £12 including VAT for the client and £30 including VAT for the salon.

HAIR CUTS
A good cut makes styling your hair effortless. We have a range of talented stylists, all with over 10 years experience, so whether its a simple trim to maintain your look, or a style transformation, you're in good hands. If you have extra thick hair or wear it long, we have appointments available so that you have the time you need with your stylist. All of our hair cuts include a wash and blow dry.
BLOW DRY & STYLING
Our blow dry appointments are for a last minute pamper, a special occasion, or a regular appointment with a treatment to keep your hair nourished and looking silky smooth. We also have specialists in special occasion hair, for bridal parties, proms, birthday celebrations or festive events. Smooth & sleek or big & bouncy, our stylists are on hand to help you celebrate with fabulous looking hair.

HAIR COLOUR
There is nothing like a new colour, or a colour refresh to make your hair sing. At GOLSON, we ask all new clients book a colour consultation first, so we can carry out a full consultation, ensure you're booked in for the right services to meet your budget and have an up to date allergy alert test. You will need to book in for a blow dry or a cut & blow dry to finish your appointment. Please note that prices are a guide only and vary depending on your hair and your desired look.
HAIR LIGHTENING / BLONDING
There is nothing like a new colour, or a colour refresh to make your hair sing. At GOLSON, our lightening service can range from sublet caramel money pieces to platinum card and icy whites. Additional toning services can be required to achieve your desired result, and depending on current colour and condition of hair, it can sometimes be a gradual process to lighten your hair over several visits. A FREE consultation with your stylist can provide you with what you can expect and an accurate price.
BALAYAGE
Balayage is one of our most requested and popular colour services. A bespoke colour service which can offer subtle sun kissed looks, stunning icy blondes, and dark beautiful glossy looks blending into vibrant bolds, the options are endless. A low maintenance colour service which can be prolonged by popping in for our Balayage Refresh service to tone and gloss. Add an in-between root refresh appointment for white coverage. KERASILK CONTROL SMOOTHING SERVICE
SILKY PERFECTION with Kerasilk Control Keratin Treatment helps you achieve long lasting results for unruly, frizzy and unmanageable hair into perfectly smooth and soft hair for between 3 - 5 months when used with the accompanying Kerasilk Control Home Care range.
HAIR EXTENSIONS USING AWARD WINNING BEAUTY WORKS
Adding confidence boosting volume and thickness to fine hair, or additional length and colour, we are thrilled to be offering hair enhancement service using award winning Beauty Works, 10% human hair with Nanobond®, Invisi®Tape and Slimline® Tape application methods.
